JH | Shin Chan: Before the ama start, can you please introduce yourselves and the team background?
Minh | Imba: Hello everyone, I’m Minh from Kawaii Islands team. Currently, I’m the CEO of Kawaii Islands and Imba Games Studio. With over 13 years of game development experience from Gameloft, VNG, Suga and Imba, I’m excited to lead this project and create an amazing play-to-earn game for everyone.
Reishi | Kawaii Team: Hi guys, my name is Reishi from the Kawaii Islands team. I’m currently the Lead Game designer and 2D Art Manager at IMBA studio, with 7 years of experience in developing our Kawaii game series.
It’s my pleasure to be here today with you all. Let’s find out more about this project that our team is passionately working on ^^
JH | Shin Chan: Can you please introduce us about Kawaii Islands in short, and Is there anything else you can share us the update/news from Kawaii Islands?
Minh | Imba: The project Kawaii Islands owe its name to a series of its predecessors namely Kawaii Home, Kawaii Mansion and Kawaii Puzzle. At our core, the significant reason we started this project is to provide a high-quality anime style game that enable players to enjoy, relax while playing to earn.
Reishi | Kawaii Team: We have recently launched the Alpha web version of Kawaii Island over here: https://play.kawaii.global/
Marking all the most important milestones in our roadmap for the previous month ^^

AMA Twitter Section Begins:
Q1: A lot of NFT Gaming have a big mount of CHEATERS, multi account to earn more money. That problems will unfair to new players. How Kawaii Islands face to it ?
Minh | Imba: Cheating and Botting are indeed detrimental problems to any game. However, our players are required to pay an entry fee for essential game items, the value of which is determined by the supply and demand of the game’s free market. This should discourage large scale cheating attempts because of the pay-to-play nature of the game.
On the other hand, when we introduced F2P players into the game, we had plans and measures in place to prevent the use of multiple accounts and devices for cheating.
Details on how we avoid hacking, cheating, or using emulator won’t be disclosed as a preventive measure :)
Q2: How did you come up with the name of your project? What is your project’s significant reason? Do you have a story you’d like to tell us about?
Reishi | Kawaii Team: The name Kawaii Islands is a combination of our Kawaii branding series and the concept about a floating magical islands among the clouds. Joining the game, player will take the role of a novice merchant coming to Kawaii Islands in hope of changing their fate, under the guidance of a very adorable Cat butler. Our goal is to turn Kawaii Islands into a high-quality anime style game that enable players to enjoy, relax while playing to earn.
Especially, by gamifying several DeFi mechanisms, Kawaii Islands will bring players a new dimension of mixed entertainment and earning. Our future vision is to build an Anime Metaverse, where people can Play, Connect, Create and Earn ^^
Minh | Imba: Since our Imba Game Studio has many years of game development experience, when I had a chance to talk with Dr. Chung Dao from Oraichain about AI and blockchain technology, we immediately clicked and started Kawaii Islands.
Q3: I can read that in Kawaii Island, players will be able to experience a complete set of simulation games that includes design, construction, fabrication, agriculture and social networking, but can you really tell us more details about the game’s mode and characteristics?
Minh | Imba: The current state of the game resembles simulation games but involving NFT and Defi functionalities. You earn cryptocurrency in Kawaii by growing some materials to sell to other players (selling NFTs), or completing crafting orders to earn rewards (completing tasks).
It’s required that you have some essential game assets to start the game to earn: a magical plan, a field, and a magical creature. This can be thought as an “entry fee”. Each item can cost $10-$200
You can also play for free by visit others player islands to help them harvesting fruits and eggs.
Reishi | Kawaii Team: In the near future, there’ll be more contents to come, such as renting assets between players, or open a business inside your island to attract your visitors.
We also have plans to developed new features where artists can create their own game NFTs and sell them for in game use. Other players can then purchase these and use them for their characters ^^
We consider all the features mentioned above a brand new approach among the existing blockchain games. By focusing in these unique features, we hope to expand and maintain a healthy community where everyone can enjoy playing, earning and socializing.
We will share more details later when everything is set in stone ^^
Q4: P2E games can be difficult to understand for those players who are new to the world of blockchain and crypto. So, what plans does Kawaii Islands have to help those users to understand and get comfortable with the game? Will you offer any kind of tutorials for them?
Minh | Imba: Most blockchain related mechanisms are gamified in our games. A traditional player doesn’t need any much time try and figure out how to play and have fun with the games.
All they might need to know, probably, are (1) instead of storing their game assets in database book, each is stored as an NFT so that everyone can verified, and it’s easier to exchange; and (2) they can earn cryptocurrencies which can be exchanged into real fiat money.
Reishi | Kawaii Team: We’ve also prepared detailed information about our game play and items in this document for reference: https://docs.kawaii.global/game-play
Or, they can always raise their questions in our community channels, our mods or other community members will help them figure everything out ^^
Q5: How Do you planning to promote your project in different countries, where English is not spoken well? Do you have a local communities for them to better understand your project?
Minh | Imba: Though just officially debuted, we are lucky to be overwhelmed with support from our community, which consists of various countries around the globe. In our main discord group, there are dedicated channels for many different languages other than English where people can be supported in their own mother tongue by our local mods.
We are also promoting the game to many geographies by connecting with some of the biggest crypto and gamefi communities in each region
Reishi | Kawaii Team: Here’s the link to our official discord server with the local language channels available:
Live AMA Begins:
Q6: As we know that Kawaii Islands is a NFT simulation play-to-earn game. Talking about play-to-earn, in my opinion, there is a drawback of this method, Usually after the game reward drops, the gameplay is no longer interesting for the user (Gamer).
Do you agree with my opinion??
If YES, what is your plan to solve this problem??
How do you optimize and balance between users (Gamers) who come to play games because they love them & users (Gamers) who come to play games just for profit??
Minh | Imba: Great question! I totally agree with you about 2 type of gamers. We will try to balance the game that can satisfy both player to earn gamer and play for fun gamer.
Q7: You mention that players will be able to meet and hang out with other Kawaii residents, does this mean it is an online game? Will I be able to play the different games you offer with a friend or acquaintance and in the same way generate income?
Reishi | Kawaii Team: Yes, Kawaii Islands is an online social simulation game with various entertaining features such as designing, building, crafting, farming, social-networking and more to come — so you can definitely play with your family/friends/acquaintances who share the same interest for the game. By gamifying several DeFi mechanisms, we hope to bring you all a new dimension of mixed entertainment and earning, where you can enjoy playing and earning from the game together ^^
Q8: I saw that there are 4 gaming Items,
Materials & Magical Creatures,
Can you explain about game Items?
Hal: It’s pretty simple, you plant the Magical plants on the field, wait and harvest the fruits. You can feed them to the creatures or make dyes. The creatures will lay eggs for material. Adding material and dyes create decor items for order delivery, this is where you earn rewards ^^
Q9: You said Kawaii would first use AIRI as a temporary in-game earning token and then switch to KWT tokens. Can you explain a bit about the AIRI token? and how to convert AIRI to KWT token?
Hal: AIRI is a fully functional token from our Marketplace partner, aiRIght, you can swap it on Pancakeswap. KWT will also be on Pancake after the IDO
Q10: I learnt that you will be launching your Alpha game on September 30. Has this game finally been launched? How can we test it?
Does Kawaii Island has plan of introducing a new feature that will allow artists to create their own game NFTs and sell them for in game use?
Minh | Imba: You can try the game right now here: https://play.kawaii.global/
You just need some initial NFT like plants, creatures and fields to play the game.
We have plan to make the feature that allow artist to upload their art to marketplace to sell in next year. Please follow our website the update the information https://kawaii.global/
Q11: Does your platform have multiple language options for better understanding of the game? Or are you planning to add multiple language options?
Reishi | Kawaii Team: Yes, we have plans to add other language localization for Kawaii Islands. For the alpha launch, there is 2 languages available in-game: English and Vietnamese. When beta launch, we will be adding more language options so our community can get to know the game easier.
Q12: How do you plan to spread awareness about your project in different countries where English is not good? Do you plan to develop many different communities such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Korea, … about your project so that they can easily communicate and understand your project?
Hal: We are recruiting local mods to help with this, also the game will support many languages later on^^
Q13: I’m aware that Kawaii Islands IDO will go live on Polkastarter on 12th October. How can we participate sir? Any KYC requirements? What about the whitelisting? Exciting to participate
Hal: you can read more here https://blog.polkastarter.com/polkastarter-whitelists-just-got-a-whole-lot-better/
Q14: I see that You are planning to add few Free — to — Play Features, How will it help Non- crypto Users?
Reishi | Kawaii Team: Social networking is an important feature of Kawaii Islands to become a metaverse. F2P is one social factor of this feature. With F2P, many public users can try out the game and feel the attraction of P2E feature and are expected to invest into the game and KWT tokens. This strengthens the society and the economy of Kawaii Islands.
Moreover, F2P players can contribute greatly to the main P2E users by providing crafted items with reasonable price to the Secondary Marketplace. This can benefit other players via saving time of crafting orders and receiving rewards. To know how exactly the F2P feature works in our game, read more at: https://docs.kawaii.global/information/faq/eng/f2p
Q15: Why did Kawaii Island decided to launch the game first before the token? What advantages do you think this will give to the platform? And how soon will there be a token launch?
Hal: We did this so we can stabilize the game and its economy first, to ensure the quality and prepare for the long run before launching the token. This allow us to listen to our community and improve the game, as our community is our top priority. After KWT launch, the holders will also have governance rights in Kawaii Islands too, they can vote for important decisions of the game ^^
Q16: On September 30, 2021, at 10:00 UTC Kawaii Island Has Launch its “ALPHA PLAY TO EARN GAME” game
Can you Please tell Us the User and player response about the game , What new gaming Features Players Can explore in this game ?
Reishi | Kawaii Team: The Alpha game received much love and support from our players community for its graphic and game design. Our community members were very active and constantly sending feedback and suggestions for improvement. Kawaii Islands team highly appreciated all constructive comments, we gathered everyone’s comments and are working to improve our system. Within the span of the first 10 hours of game launch, we already adjusted some essential points based on the initial feedback, and is still working on improving our game constantly ^^
Q17: Creators can also setup their store for ingame related NFTs, How will it help the users?
Can you give more information about it?
Hal: Yeah. For example, they can design their own product, apply to turn it into game assets and if some one like it, they can buy the NFTs and use it in game. there are more but we are running out of time here 😂
Q18: As we are experiencing in the blockchain space, the NFT Gaming Market is booming in recent times, but it doesn’t guarantee success for all Projects. How can #KAWAII compete in the world of NFT gaming? And what are the advantages of your NFT that can knock down your rivals position?
Minh | Imba: I think the first one is we start with a fully functional play-to-earn: From the alpha version of the game, players can already play to earn.
Great graphic design: Imba game studio has had over 6 years of developing experience with this Kawaii style games, the initial design got great feedback from our customers when we introduced our trailer video and also the presale events.
And we have to talk about customizable: Kawaii Islands and NFTs gaming open up a flexible world for users as they can customize their experience with us. We have future plan to open up new features where artists can create their own game NFTs and sell them for in game use. Other players can also purchase these and use them for their characters.
