We held a live AMA with Mario Lee , Co-Founder & CEO of Mozik on 19th May 9:00 PM (UTC+8). Here’s the recap for those who missed it.
Introduction
Serene: Before AMA start, can you introduce yourselves and the team background?
Mario Lee: I am CEO/Co-founder of Mozik. I have been a music serial entrepeneur in China for the last 15 years. Previously, I co-created China’s first mood based music streaming app “You Listen”. It was acquired by Rock Records for $21 million USD.
After the acquistion, I worked for them as COO of Rock Records Mobile Digital Music for a few years. I also worked as former Deputy GM of the New Media Center at Beijing News Media. So I have a rich understand and deep connection with the music industry. We have a great team and they are all specialists in their field.

Serene: Any latest/ update news about Mozik you would like to share with our community?😀
Mario Lee: Unfortunately, we have some not so good news. The market is dropping a lot right now, gas fees are also really high due to people selling off. As a result, we may delay the launch of our IDO.

Q1: On the 20th of May, Mozik will be having their BSCpad IDO, can you tell us more about it? How many addresses participate on the whitelist? How many tokens will be available and what will be the initial price per $MOZ? Once this IDO is over, what should we expect next?
Mario Lee: Here are the tentative info on our IDO right now.
Once IDO is over, we will be launching our NFT marketplace shortly.
Q2: With the development of smartphones, music streaming platforms have also become popular, and sportify, joox, etc. Many music streaming platforms appeared. Will it compete or collaborate with Mozik’s existing music platforms? How will you do this if your goal is to compete?
Mario Lee: We take a different approach with our music playback. Our music streaming app is mood based and decentralized. Our listeners can choose from 5 moods: happy, sad, calm, sleepy, and party. When they chose a mood, songs are played based on that mood. The next day when they choose the same mood, new songs are played, unlike a curated playlist. Also our listeners can vote for songs that they like. Song with more ‘likes’ have a higher change of going onto other people’s streams. This allows listeners to discovery new songs and new artists.
Q3: Could you tell us about the system you implement to prevent copyrights? Or really Mozik will not focus on it, since as each musical content will be a totally unique NFT, it does not matter if the same content is published it will always be a different NFT?
Mario Lee: We have automated validation checks during the minting process. For music, it will be like using Shazam. Users can also report any fake or inappropriate content. If the content is found to be in violation of copyright infringement. We will remove the content and freeze the uploader’s account. There will be an appeals process for the uploader for them to submit proof of their ownership. We have a committee to review these appeals.
Q4: So where did the other 175,000,000 tokens go? Is this for private investors?
What is the vesting schedule, if any because it doesn’t appear in your whitepaper?

Q5: As the biggest music NFT trading platform on the blockchain later, it needs strong initial support and good promotion. Does the #MOZIK project already have partners with well-known music labels? or collaborating with world-class songwriters?
Mario Lee: With the launch of our marketplace, we will be showcasing 1 well known artist/producer every week for the first 10 weeks. So stayed tuned for these announcements on Twitter and Telegram!

Q6: if I have $ MOZ ? what is my advantage when buying your token?
Mario Lee: With $MOZ tokens, fans and project backers can purchase and trade NFTs on the marketplace. If you hold $MOZ tokens, it will unlock extra perks and benefits, such as access to tickets to special events held by Mozik, like music festivals, fan meet and greets. It will also grant you early access to purchase rare NFTs on the marketplace.
Q7: Where can i buy?

Q8: ⭐️ Considering that you’re a project based on the music, the community support is key, so can you tell whonare the artist or most important members that MOZIK have between its files?
Mario Lee: Yes, IP is very important for our project. As I touched on before, we will be showcasing 10 well-known artist/producers in the first 10 weeks. So stay tuned!
Q9: Which projects are your closest competitors? For example, do you accept Uniswap, Curve or Balancer as your competitors? How will you take to the next level?
Mario Lee: There are many notable blockchain projects in the music space, like Audius and Rocki. I think this is healthy. It shows this is the trend and evolution of the music industry. Our advantage over other projects is that Mozik has been running for the last 5 years and has over 10M+ registered users. So we will have that many users on our marketplace on day 1 of the launch.
Q10: I seen you twitter post that Mozik will have an IDO with Tezos and also in BSCPad. Im just curious and excited, can you tell us about the detail of your IDO. What are the requirements? Do we still need a KYC?
Mario Lee: Yes, KYC is required as it is restricted in some countries. We will be having double IDO on BSCPad and Ignition. Please follow the instructions below.
Q11: Why you build your token on Ethereum blockchain? As we all know Ethereum has scalability issues? Any plan to move on other blockchain or mainnet?
Mario Lee: We decided to build our token on Ethereum blockchain as it is currently the most popular blockchain for NFTs and NFT markets. This means fans who buy the NFTs from our marketplace, they can then sell it on other marketplaces. We are working with Tezos right now and plan to incorporate our token on Tezos blockchain as well.
Q12: Too many projects promise magic but never release any working product or prove any revenue, Within a short/long time of release. Is it like this? If not can u tell us, What makes it different from other projects?
Mario Lee: We have already developed our marketplace app and we are in beta testing. We are testing the store front, wallet functions and the NFT asset management functions. Here is our roadmap. We are on schedule with our plan.
Q13: ✨Could you please elaborate more about your tokenomics? What’s the total supply and what kind of plans do you have regarding $mozik unlocks in the future?
Mario Lee: We are working with artists on some extra benefits that can be unlocked when you hold x amount of MOZ tokens. For example, we are looking at the idea of giving the fans a second screen at an event. So say you are at the concert, you can see what is happening backstage or choose a camera that follows a specific idol, etc.
Q14: Why did you need to trade Intellectual Property Rights in the field of music, although there are many legally copyrighted projects in the crypto market?
Mario Lee: The nature of blockchain and NFTs are a good fit for protecting IPs. Our main goal is to leverage these technologies to solve existing problems in the music industry.
Q15: Mozik is focused on building a blockchain-based digital entertainment ecosystem, but will you be focused only on musical entertainment? Or will you have a section for gaming NFTs in the future?
Mario Lee: Our focus will primarily be on music and celebrity related NFTs. We will have 5 categories of content on the marketplace: Music, Album/Art, Short Videos, Music Videos and Others (Tickets, Autographs, etc.). It could definitely accommodate game art and game music NFTs.
