We held a live AMA with DAO Committee Member, Mark Kamphuis from myMessage on 6th December 10:00 PM (UTC+8). Here’s the recap for those who missed it.

Introduction

Mika | Shin Chan: Before AMA start, can you introduce yourselves and the team background?

Mark Kamphuis: It’s afternoon for me. 3pm in The Netherlands 🙂

I’m Mark Kamphuis. DAO Committee Member (team member) at myMessage.

I’ve been in the blockchain/crypto industry since June 2018 and some of you may remeber me as former Zilliqa team member, as I used to be their Head of Brand and Marketing some time ago. 🙂

We have 8 core team members right now. Team members are from The Netherlands (me), Singapore, Malaysia, China, Pakistan.

So bascially we’re all over the place.. 😅

Our advisors are Lester Lim (X21 founder), CryptoDaku and Kenzi Wang (AU21 founder). Pretty well known industry names and we’re very proud to have such respected folks in our advisory board.

Mika | Shin Chan: wow u have been in the space for a long long time, great experience

Mark Kamphuis: Well… It definitly feels like that. 1 year in blockchain equals 10 years irl… 😅😅

Mika | Shin Chan: hahaha yes yes so very true everything moves so fast

Mark Kamphuis: Yep. Oh…before I forget. These are the companies that have funded us so far. Batch 2 was announched only last week.

Mika | Shin Chan: wow congratulation. can u explain more about myMessage in general?

Mark Kamphuis: Sure. myMessage basically has 3 products and we’re building on 4 different blockchains: Zilliqa, Avalanche, Polygon and Binance Smart Chain.

The first product is a Message dApp: so encrypt, send, read, search and receive messages, files and data, all protected with a quantum resistant level of security.

The second product is a Reddit like thread-reply bulletin board: decentralised social media (+ tipping).

And lastly, our third product is a decentralized Data Portal for Web3 Applications.

myMessage has a multi-chain approach, which is getting more popular these days.

Basically the idea of nyMessage is decentralised and sensorship free messaging and data, everything protected by a quantum-resistant level of security — which is fairly new in blockchain.

Yeah. We got our official launch coming up the month (on 2 launch pads), we’ll go live on Zilliqa mainnet with the Messaging DApp and also the Avalanche integration is planned for this month.

Mark Kamphuis: You guys can check our Roadmap here for more details: https://docs.mymessage.io/mymessage-litepaper/roadmap

Twitter Section Begins:

Q1: myMessage is a Decentralized reddit-like social media & Data Portal for Web3 Apps. What makes this platform Reddit-like? What inspiration was taken and how has it been improved?

Mark Kamphuis: Because it looks like Reddit. 🙂 It’s a thread-reply bullitin board, only decentalized and thereby sensorship free. It also allows tipping with our $MESA token

You can also create private threads, like really really private, cause they are stored on blockchain and protected by quantum-resistant level of security.

Same goed for the Messaging dApp by the way. No one can see your message or data, only if you let them. 😎

Like some discussion can only been seen by a selected group. Only those have the secret key can reply and view in the private thread.

Q2: If it will really be so easy to recover the data stored in myMessage, could you explain how it can be done? will we have to take care of and have on hand a private key or seed phrase?

Mark Kamphuis: Yes. Very easy to retrieve and also to share with someone. We made a nice video about it. Lemme get it.

Data and files can be uploaded, stored, searched, retrieved include but not limited to the followings:
● NFT artworks and ASCII Text Art
● encrypted messages for sensitive information
● pass messages between parties
● lover vouch/declaration — like a lover lock
● valentine message board
● a verified message from a verified source
● a will or testament
● a will inheritance of crypto assets
● patents, music rhythm, songs, ideas
● shout out to commend employee/staffs/co-workers
● appreciation/thank you note, etc.

Q3: Will I be able to stake on MyMessage? I read that you will be announcing new updates on this subject soon. How will those who want to earn income by staking do this on mymessage?

Mark Kamphuis: Yes, we plan to launch our own in-house staking program in Q4 2021 which is this month. It is operational in private testnet for quite sometime, with no issue found.

We are going to launch it immediate after TGE. We have 2 pools planned, with varying APY and period, stay tuned. 🙂

Q4: Are there any geographical limitations to the use of the services offered by myMessage, or can we store and safeguard our data and information from any country in the world?
Thank you so much!

Mark Kamphuis: Yes. From any country in the world. That’s what the whole idea of decentralization is all about no? 😄

Q5: Ethereum is killing it’s users for the high has fee. Why you decided to use Ethereum while we are now in the era of BSC?

Mark Kamphuis: We decided not to use Ethereum, due to Ethereum’s high gas fee and low transaction speed. Mass adpotion of myMessage will need low fees and high throughput. We only select blockchains with low fees and fast confirmation time such as Polygon, BSC, Zilliqa and Avalanche. Ethereum is not suitable for our application.

TL;DR: we’re not building on ETH

Twitter Section Begins:

Q6: It says on your website “ live on zilliqa” but when I click on it it says just like when I click on open app not live yet..etc, is that an error in my browser?? ??

Mark Kamphuis: That’s not an error. Button will work once live — later this month.

Q7: Do you have any
1. Telegram Group
2. YouTube channel
3. Tiktok Channel
4. Website
For this project?দ From where we can learn something? Please share with us link.

Twitter: https://twitter.com/myMessageOS

Q8: What are the different features of myMessage Subject-answer Bulletin Board? Where is the data stored? Is there an option to create a thread group where I can include my friends?

Mark Kamphuis: Data is stored on the blockchain and yes you can create truly private threads. Unlike the ‘private’ threads on centralised social media platforms.

Q9: Southeast Asia is a very vibrant market and there are many new platforms under development. So what do you think about Southeast Asia and do you have plans #myMessage projects to grow there?

Mark Kamphuis: We have a strong focus on Southeast Asia indeed.

Q10: Can you tell us how myMessage ensures the security of user identities? And how do you get users hooked once they get to know the myMessage platform?

Mark Kamphuis: A bit too technical to explain here, but it is solid. Our Lead Developer and founder Clement has a strong background in security and has been working in the blockchain space for many years.

Q11: You point out that myMessage has been created as “a decentralized data portal and reddit”, but if it really is a data portal, then why call it “myMessage” which would be more like a social network of interaction by messaging?

Mark Kamphuis: The first 2 products are definitely about messaging: Message dApp and Thread-Reply Bulletin Board. 3rd product is more advanced indeed.

Q12: 👉-very important Q Sir..👇👇👇🙋‍♂️

👉-I want to invest in your project

👉-Where can I buy your tokens

👉-Also all the links to all your social media platforms if possible? And,is your token available on any exchange (CEX or DEX)..?🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️👉-very important Q Sir..👇👇👇🙋‍♂️

Q13: A vibrant community not only contributes fresh ideas to the #myMessage initiative, but it also attracts larger partners. So, how does #myMessage intend to grow its community? Is there any intention of hiring Blockchain experts to join the myMessage team?

Mark Kamphuis: We are blockchain experts. 😁 But yes, the team will grow as we go along.

Q14: You’re on all chains like #Zilliqa #Avalanche #polygon #Bsc but not on #Solana. So why you left #Solana? Any future plans to work in #Solana?

Mark Kamphuis: We chose to build on four different blockchains instead. Solana is quite popular, but there are many other chains that are interesting for many reasons. 😊

Q15: Security audits are extremely important for any project, especially DeFi protocols that deal with user funds. So, can you explain if your project has been audited to convey confidence and security to the crypto community that is interested in investing in your project?💰

Mark Kamphuis: Of course. Audits are extremely important. No matter how good a team is.

Q16: Since some platforms only design systems for professional cryptocurrency players/enthusiasts, it becomes difficult for novices to participate and adapt. Will the Mymessage platform also make this mistake or have you created a design suitable for novice users?

Mark Kamphuis: Absolutely. UX design is very important. Should be self-explanatory basically.

Q17: I Read that my message provide SDKs for developers to access the data marketplace from their applications, I As a developer wants to know more, Can you please tell me about developer tools that my message provides ?

Mark Kamphuis: Developer in the house! 🦾 Nice!! Please follow us and you’ll hear more about it next few weeks and months.
