We held a live AMA with CEO & Founder, Alex Hui from PolkaFantasy on 27th August 09:00 PM (UTC+8). Here’s the recap for those who missed it.

Jack: Before AMA start, can you introduce yourselves and the team background?
Alex Hui: I am Alex, the CEO & founder of PolkaFantasy, the first-ever Japanese-themed NFT cross-chain marketplace & multiverse game in the world.
Our team is formed by members with strong blockchain, animation and game background.
For instance, our strategic advisors is the ex COO of Square Enix US, the creator of the famous Final Fantasy series.
And our Japan head is the former ex-CEO of SNK, the company behind The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, and Metal Slug.
We are passionate about games, especially good games. With this strong formation in both blockchain, publishing & game industries, our team really look forward to bringing a new experience to NFT lovers in near future.

1. We are going to have our IDO on Sep 10.

Q1: PolkaFantasy is inspired by Japanese philosophy as well as the Japanese NFT market. is PolkaFantasy’s intention to reach people who don’t like Japanese comics/games or is PolkaFantasy only targeting people who are interested in “hikikomori” Japanese comics, animations and games?
Alex Hui: I think most of you have once time in your life enjoyed a Japanese animation, comic, or game. But when we look around the crypto space, we will be surprised to find that most of the NFT marketplace only focus on crypto & western arts.
Despite there are fun fan communities for Japanese ACG (animation, comic. game) culture globally, marketplace serving this sector is obviously missing.
This inspires the whole concept of PolkaFantasy — the first-ever Japanese-themed NFT cross-chain marketplace & multiverse game. A platform that welcomes anyone who would like to take part in it.
ACG market size is about billions of dollars. For animation industry alone, the market size is USD500 billion. PolkaFantasy is tapping into this market with our team from both tradination ACG industry and blockchain field. And we are building something that will bring the NEXT GEN blockchain game into play.
Q2: I could tell that it is an NFT crosschain marketplace for people with a great appreciation for authentic Japanese animation. Therefore, I would like to know what strategic & commercial associations Polkafantasy have with the anime production houses, such as Naruto,One piece, etc?
Alex Hui: This is an amazing question.
Though I cannot disclose too much now, but we have an advisor who has come on board, and he has extensive experience and connection in animation field.
I can give some names here and that’s the level that we are talking: Evangelion, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh etc. That’s so much I can disclose.
In that sense, we will expand ourselves way beyond the crypto industry. We are still at early stage but we already get some amazing people on board to help us expand.
So, I hope community will be looking forward to our coming IDO on Sep 10.
Q3: So what is this #ElementalCollection you released recently for the bidders who are avid NFT collectors? Can you explain more about it & who are the only eligible to receive this limited Elemental Collections? Also what we can do with these collections, what we can use of them?
Alex Hui: Regarding the Elemental Collection, we are celebrating half a million USD achievement in the first 24 hours, we exclusively released this Elemental Collection for bidders who are avid NFT collectors. These limited editions weapon/items will ONLY be available in this auction. They will NEVER be released again!

Q4: As a game project, what makes you different from other game projects? It just so happens that recently GameFi is in great demand by many users. So, what makes POLKAFANTASY stand out from its competitors?
Alex Hui: We are :
1. The next generation play-to-earn blockchain game built by game expert from top game companies
2. Holistic ecosystem where we have strong focus on GameFi, NFT marketplace with many game NFTs, and NFT wallet. We are probably the first one.
3. One of the strongest team with extensive blockchain and game experience. Two of our advisors are ex C-suite executive of top Japanese game studio; one is the ex-director of Bandai!!
So we can build something that other projects may not be able to. And we have extensive connection to leverage and make the project successful.
Q5: PolkaFantasy’s IDO will be on ChainBoost, can you tell us more about this event and your expectations for it? When will it happen? I also noticed you decided to have first the Auction of your NFTs, why? What benefits will this bring to the platform and to the investors?
Alex Hui: Yes, we will launch on Uniswap. And also on two launchpads, ChainBoost and TrustPad.
We are looking forward to a successful launch because both launchpads are very reputatable. Besides, they are amazing teams with good experience, so I fully trust them to do the best jobs.

Q6: I see that the PolkaFantasy NFT Auction Event sales will be fragmented into 4 tiers which includes Legendary Tier, Epic Tier, Rare Tier, Common Tier. Can you please let us know the minimum bid required to get each of these tiers and the kind NFT that the bidders will receive?
Alex Hui: The minimum bids is $50, but you will get a weapon or item that can make your character stronger for easier play-to-earn.
And by $500, you can already get an epic characters which are very rare in the game! If you check other games, you will find that top tier characters have much potential.
That’s why we want to provide such opportunity for our community to get early on board with very rare NFTs. We are seeing the big potential in such NFTs, and many of our community actually think so. Cos we already have over 1,000 bids!
Q7: I see the gap between traditional gamers and blockchain gamers is still very big. How does the PolkaFantasy Platform bridge this to attract more traditional players to try out new blockchain based games? What are your plans for expanding project adoption?
Alex Hui: Good question!!
Yes, we are still early in blockchain game. If we briefly divided the development of blockchain game into generations, I think right now the whole industry is around v1.5
In this sense, we want to build the NEXT GEN blockchain game with our super strong team from the top game studio in the world.
Personally I am a gamer of over 30 years. Thus I understand what is lacking in the blockchain game right now. Therefore, I want to bridge the traditional gaming and blockchain to make the game attractive to ordinary gamers.
Q8: what is Polkafantasy’s solution for users and investors to hold on to tokens and not sell in this volatile market situation?
Alex Hui: $XP is a true governance token. Some examples of its usage:
1. Vote your favorite artists to give them more exposure.
2. Get discount (sometimes big discount!) of NFTs with $XP
3. As a reward to platform users.
4.Use it as in-game currency.
5.As fuel to make some amazing things in the marketplace and games (we cannot disclose any further at this moment)
In fact, we have a lot of utilities of $XP up the sleeves. And this will create a huge demand for $XP in short/long term.

We are working with a lot of amazing artists from the top of animation & game industry.
In fact, we will soon announce many collaboration which will amaze community so much because they are legends. By working with such great artists, we really want to bring the true ACG culture to crypto. And this will in turn generate much demand for our token (Sep 10 IDO on Uniswap).
I believe our passion will generate community interest, and will bring much more attention to PolkaFantasy.

Q10: Can you tell us what is the best NFT to invest in your platform? and what is your current NFT price range?
Alex Hui: This is an interesting question because even I don’t know the final price of our Genesis collection.
But to give your some perspective, one of our NFT has reached above $15,000 after 10 sec of our auction. And we truly believe the top NFTs will reach at least $50,000.
So by holding our lower tier NFT, we really hope that the success of the auction will benefit the community in short and long run.
